a winter wonderland.

She stood outside letting the cold tickle her cheeks.  She let the icy air rush into the deepest part of her lungs until the ice consumed her. That special time of the year was almost here and one thing was missing.  The trees and twinkling lights were ready, the presents were wrapped.  But the soft white blanket that served as a winter playground was nowhere in sight.  when she looked around she didnt see the friendly snowman or the abandoned snowforts.   There was nothing but dead grass and naked trees.

She went to sleep that night desperate for a storm.  That night she dreamed of big white flakes, she dreamed of the snowy adventures she hoped to go on.

That morning she rushed to a window praying that her simple Christmas wish came true.  A white blanket covered the ground.  Finally the Christmas magic had begun.

I don't know why but there is always something magical about the first time the sparkling snow touches the ground….
