Just dance.

"and those who were seen dancing
were thought to be insane by those
who could not hear the music"

Why do we go through life so carefully?
I realized something today-- I think it's because we care about impressing people.  Everyone wants to be liked, respected, and looked up to. So we stay well behaved, we follow the standard of society. We follow the morés that society holds us to, and we fear the idea of being different.

Then we hear society telling us to be orignal, but when we actually listen, we are rejected by the very ones telling us to be different.  And so we change, we go back to following the universally "perfect" example, we follow the ones we look up to.  We hide our talents, we cover up our differences, and we fake similarities with others... in essence we stop dancing, we tune out the music.

We begin to look at differences as abnormalities that cause us to lose our place in society.   We begin to judge and reject the ones willing to be different, while we hold tight to the tiny spot society has for us.  We go through life merely fitting in. We leave no mark on society and once we're gone, society forgets we were ever there.

But this is all wrong.  We need to break free from the bonds society holds us too.  Each one of us must again learn how to hear the music. We are all original...so why shouldn't we show it? Why do we care what other people think? because in the grand scheme of things it doesn't matter.

We need to learn to dance.

And we need to hear the music.

But we have to learn to not worry if we are seen as insane.
